General WWF Deutschland terms of use for the WWF Academy platform

§ 1. Scope of application

Use of this platform is subject to the terms under which the services of WWF Deutschland (hereinafter referred to as “WWF” or “we”) offered at www.wwf-akademie.de and its sub-pages can be used by users. This platform may only be used by individuals who have been authorised by WWF and who have the access data provided by WWF (user). The user undertakes to use the online platform and the information, downloads or forums etc. provided therein exclusively in accordance with the following terms of use.

§ 2. Terms of provision

2.1 WWF offers web services on wwf-akademie.de, some of which are free of charge and some of which are subject to a fee, in particular learning content such as tutorials, instructional texts and interactive exercises, live seminars, etc. and provides these for use online in a web or mobile app. In addition, WWF makes its range of courses available at wwf-akademie.de.

2.2 The mere provision of content for retrieval and the corresponding access by the user does not constitute a contractual relationship between WWF and the respective user.

2.3 WWF always endeavours to ensure that its courses are run properly, but is not liable in the event that they are interrupted or not accessible. This applies in particular to delays, interruptions or non-availability of courses, the internet or access to the internet for technical reasons.

2.4 WWF reserves the right to change parts of the courses or individual or all courses as a whole without prior notice or to discontinue publication temporarily or permanently.

§ 3. Registration and contract conclusion

3.1. The prerequisite for use is registration at www.wwf-akademie.de. After registration, the access data is sent to the user. The user must provide accurate data upon registration. When storing and processing this data, WWF complies with the applicable provisions of data protection law, as regulated in more detail in the data Privacy policy. Once the user has registered and WWF has sent the access data, a contract for the use of the platform is concluded with WWF (“user contract”).

3.2. Only people age 18 and older may register.

3.3 A registration form is completed to register with WWF.

3.3.1. If the user fills out the registration form provided for registration, he/she must provide the data requested in the form completely and accurately. Registering an account with third-party or otherwise inaccurate information is not permitted. In particular, we caution against the misuse of titles and professional titles (Section 132a Criminal Code (StGB)). The user must also notify WWF immediately of any changes to his/her data. Before submitting the registration form, the user must confirm that he/she has read these terms of use and the privacy policy for the use of the platform and accepts their validity. Sending the registration form by clicking the appropriate button does not constitute a contract for the use of the platform.

3.3.2. After submitting the registration form, the user receives a confirmation e-mail from WWF at the e-mail address entered in the registration form. In this e-mail, the user is prompted to reconfirm the data entered, the privacy policy and the acknowledgement of, agreement with and compliance with the terms of use, in particular the user obligations mentioned in section 9. This confirmation e-mail constitutes the offer to conclude the contract of use, including these terms of use. The user accepts this offer by clicking on the activation link contained in the e-mail to confirm registration. The contract of use between WWF and the user is concluded at the moment WWF receives the user’s electronic confirmation.

WWF can revoke the user's authorisation at any time without providing any reasons and block the user from using the platform in the future. The user undertakes to keep the access data confidential and not disclose it to third parties or make it accessible to them in any other way. If a user has been blocked, the user may not register under a new name. Our prior written consent is required for renewed access to our courses.
